Here at Glass Wall Direct, we have a wealth of experience in installing glass partitions in businesses both large and small.
Whether in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, we serve companies and organisations in every major town and city in the UK.
Once that our clients have enjoyed a thorough and professional survey, and a price has been fixed according to their needs, we then organise an installation date once that payment has been made.
Highly flexible in our approach, we work with many businesses during regular business hours but are happy to expand our operations upon request, subject to additional fees.
As health and safety is also a major concern of ours, site specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments are available on request following the initial survey.
We work closely with all our clients to ensure total transparency and professionalism, so if you have any questions whatsoever, members of our team are always at hand to take you through our processes.
It’s important to note that the installation of partitions cannot take place until the site is clean, dusted down, and clear of any moisture.
The same applies for when manifestation is applied.
The failure to ensure that the involved areas are clean and free of interference will delay the installation and Glass Wall Direct cannot be held responsible for a delay of this manner.
This might mean that additional charges may be issued if fitters are unable to start work on the agreed date.
On the day of installation, the base, head and wall track profiles, abutments, and door frame will be levelled so that fitters are able to facilitate the measure and installation of the glass and door sets.
Track profiles will be installed straight with the use of packers where necessary, and any gaps behind the track are to be infilled.
We will need to mechanically drill and fix into numerous places, including into floors, ceilings, and walls to fix perimeter track profiles and door pivots.
It is important that the exact positions of pipework and cables are marked by other personnel prior to fitting the perimeter track profiles. We also advise that the load bearing capacity of floors and overhead structures are established before installation takes place.
Glass Wall Direct cannot be held responsible for damage to concealed services to the building, decoration, equipment, or furniture.
Depending on the type of manifestation that has been selected, we may need to apply graphics up to a week after installation has taken place, though all clients will be notified during the consultation process if this is the case.
All quotations are based upon clients providing free of charge facilities for Glass Wall Direct to dispose of waste materials. Alternatively, we are able to hire eight cubic yard waste skips, charged at £200+ VAT each, if required.
Please inform us prior to work commencing if we will be required to hire waste skips.
The quote offered to clients is also based on the assumption that businesses have applied for and received Local Building Regulation approval, where required.
It is also important that all businesses inform Glass Wall Direct on the presence of asbestos within the premises and provide the appropriate asbestos register if necessary.
Upon the alteration of an order after the site survey is complete, it will be subject to a further and separate quotation and will require an official instruction. Any snagging required will commence upon receipt of written notification and emailed photographs.
We would like to make you aware of the following quality guidelines issued by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), which follow the industry standard visual quality criteria that we and our glass suppliers adhere to:
"Toughened safety glass shall be deemed acceptable if the following phenomena are neither obtrusive nor bunched: hairlines or blobs; fine scratches not more than 25mm long; minute imbedded particles.
"Obtrusiveness of blemishes shall be judged by looking through the glass, not at it, when standing at right angles to it on the room side at a distance of not less than 3 metres in natural daylight and not in direct sunlight."
"The area to be viewed is the normal vision area with the exception of a 50mm wide band around the perimeter of the glass. Pattern ghosting can occur on glasses with a textured finish."
More information can be found on the GGF website.
We would be delighted to explain any of the information provided above. Give us a call on 0330 133 1471.
